first_imgChris Robinson Brotherhood continues to engage new fans with their psychedelic soul, captivating in the live setting with all out performances. When you want to capture a live performance for an official release, you need someone at the helm who knows how to convert that raw performance energy into something that sounds both refined and energetic. For the CRB, they found the perfect engineer: Betty Cantor-Jackson.After spending countless years taping shows with the Grateful Dead (known for her famed Betty Boards), Cantor-Jackson has produced the Betty’s Blends series for the CRB. Today, the band has announced the third volume of the series, Betty’s Blends, Vol. 3: Self-Rising, Southern Blends, due out on May 5th via Silver Arrow Records. The recording is taken from a series of performances through the Southeast, including stops in Atlanta, Raleigh and Charleston in November 2015, captured and mixed by Cantor-Jackson herself.Says Robinson in a press release, “With Betty, we trust her sonic sensibilities and give her the space and freedom to do what the woman does, and what she does is beautiful and unique. It’s the stuff rock n’ roll dreams and recordings are made of. Viva la Betty!”To get the party started, the band has shared their take on “The Music’s Hot.” Listen to Betty’s blended take, below.More details about the album can be seen below… We can’t wait!TracklistingSide AI Ain’t HidingGot LoveSide BClear Blue Sky & The Good DoctorThe Music’s HotSide CRoan County BanjoI’m A Hog For YouSide DOak Apple DayGet Out Of My Life WomanSide EHoneysuckle InterludeRideSide FTales of Thunder TeethGirl I Love YouShe Belongs To MeChris Robinson Brotherhood Tour Dates3/11 – Longmont, CO – Hops & Handrails3/24 – McMinnville, TN – Bluegrass Underground (Sold Out)3/25 – Lexington, KY – Manchester Music Hall3/26 – Charleston, WV – Mountain Stage (Sold Out)3/28 – Tuscaloosa, AL – Druid City Music Hall3/30 – Mobile, AL – Soul Kitchen3/31 – New Orleans, LA – Hogs For The Cause4/1 – Memphis, TN – New Daisy Theatre4/2 – St. Louis, MO – Delmar Hall4/5 – Little Rock, AR – Revolution Music Room4/6 – Tulsa, OK – Cain’s Ballroom4/7 – Lawrence, KS – Granada Theater4/8 – Columbia, MO – The Blue Note4/10 – Fayetteville, AR – George’s Majestic Lounge4/12 – Springfield, MO – Gillioz Theater4/14 – Jackson, MS – Duling Hall4/15 – Dallas, TX – South Side Music Hall4/18 – Flagstaff, AZ – Orpheum Theater4/20 – Ventura, CA – Majestic Ventura Theater4/21 – Big Sur, CA – Freaks For The Festival4/22 – Big Sur, CA – Freaks For The Festival5/17 – New York, NY – Central Park Summer Stage *5/20 – Wilmington, DE – Big Noise Music Festival* w/ Govt.
