Australia: Primate welcomes refugee resettlement plan

Archbishop of Melbourne Philip Freier, primate of the Anglican Church of Australia, has welcomed the announcement but has called on the government to go further. The conditions on Nauru and Manus have long-been criticized; and earlier this year official files released to The Guardian newspaper revealed the “shocking and saddening” conditions faced by those detained in the off-shore centers.Full article.
