first_imgfor Karen A. Ferguson, 75. She passed away Oct. 27 after a valiant battle with Polycythemia Vera. Karen was born and aised in Walled Lake, Mich., a small community outside of Detroit, before locating in Hoboken for 20 years and finally settling in Cedar Grove for the last 35 years. She worked at Keuffel and Esser in Hoboken in the 1960s, Arkwright Co. in Secaucus in the 1980s, and finally at FLM Graphics in Fairfield up till her retirement 10 years ago. Karen enjoyed many summers at the Jersey Shore racing Sanderling Class Bay Boats and lakeside visits to her sister’s home in Michigan, and especially her love of her many cherished dogs.Karen was the mother of Elaine Walko and John E. Lawton; grandmother of Darian Walko, Emily Lawton and John W. Lawton. She is also survived by three siblings, Frank and Harry Zaverl and Patti Page, and many caring nieces and nephews.Services arranged by the Lawton-Turso Funeral Home, Hoboken.last_img
