If the rumor is true and the Cards are interested

first_imgIf the rumor is true and the Cards are interested in Roth, then they will have some decisions to make. With Joey Porter poised to show why he’s the man (we’re still waiting for him to do that for the first time as a Cardinal), Roth could be the simpler solution to the Porter problem. In 87 career NFL games, Roth has 272 tackles, 199 of which were solo. He’s coming off of the best year of his career in Cleveland where he had 59 solo tackles and 3.5 sacks. Read: Roth could be the more practical version of Porter, especially because he’s likely to command a lower salary.Whether or not the Cardinals sign Roth, maybe the rumor alone will make Porter focus and become the player he’s said he can be for Arizona.
